picAug 2003 - Mackenzie will be starting 6th grade at ASB. They built a new campus which opened in September 2000 (yes, right after we left last time), it's about 15 minutes outside Budapest, but takes us 20 minutes to get to where we can get outside Budapest (so we'll be spending some quality time together in the car)!pic

Mackenzie and her new friend in the school cafeteria. They met during orientation her name is Mana. She is from San Diego and will be in Budapest for 5 years, she doesn't know where her dad works, just that he's there all the time.

The rest of the cafeteria at ASB. t's really big and they have a la carte items plus the regular school lunch everyday so the kids have a choice. They also have sodas but told Mackenzie that wasn't one of her choices!

Mackenzie's first day of Middle School, she's in 6th grade and gets to pick out her own clothes (for the most part)! This is out on the balcony from our flat (less embarrassing then having your mom take your picture in front of the school on the first day)!


picpicAfter orientation we went searching through the building for the Upper Elementary section and found Mackenzie's second grade teacher Ms. Ekstran. She teaches 4th grade now and still travels every little school break (she's from Washington State). This is after the first day of school out in front as the students were leaving.

And here she is on her second day of school. Why is she so far away? Oh, that must be because am now to drop her off at the bottom of the driveway and she'll meet me out there after school. 'm totally showing up one day in my flannels and slippers and will be standing outside the car!
